How does pollution affect organism populations?

Organism populations can be affected by pollution. Some ways of organisms being affected (like in light pollution) is where bright light can disturb the nocturnal vision of animals and attract insects to the light which is luring them away from their duties like pollination. Another harmful one is thermal pollution. Thermal pollution changes the temperature of the natural water which organisms are living in and due to the sudden temperature change, die off.
