Analyze

This piece portrays a blissful and goofy scene featuring two popular cartoon characters, Mickey and Donald. It is spry, entertaining, and gives an inviting feel. The pops of color against the more dull pigment, as well as the famous characters show that it was apart of the pop art era. I think litchtenstein's purpose was to take an ordinary cartoon and let the viewer see it not just as an everyday object but also as something beautiful and enlightening. He tried to make people see it with a different point of view, an artwork with an uplifting energy.
