Misconceptions

A misconception of SWANA is that all people are poor and starving. This is not exactly true. There are very rich areas in this region that are not poor and have a very good economy. This area supplies the world with millions of gallons of oil.

Another misconception is the area is a desert and very dry. But in reality, the areas around the Mediterranean Sea have a Mediterranean climate. The climate has hot and dry summers but cold and wet winters.
