Who was Mary MacKillop?

Mary Helen MacKillop was born in 1842, Fitzroy, Melbourne. She was baptised as Maria Ellen but people just called her Mary.
From young adulthood, she decided to be poor and just have the necessities of life in dedication to God and other people, especially the poor.
In Penola, South Australia, Mary met Father Tenison Woods who was a catholic priest. They both wanted poor children to go to school so they could learn.
