Where did slaves come from?

It was common for slaves to be captured in battle from other lands and then to be bought and sold in a salve market. Stronger and younger slaves were more expensive.
Others were made slaves because the had committed crimes.
Some people however, ended up being slaves simply because they were born to slave parents.
