Hard work and Dedication

Hard work and dedication will lead to great opportunity. In the book The Great Gatsby there are many examples of hard work and dedication leading to success for the main character Gatsby it was the American dream for him. Towards the end of the book Gatsby's father comes to his funeral and shows Nick a book Gatsby had wrote in when he was a little boy. In the book there was a schedule, the schedule went through a step by step process of his day. The day was packed full of activities from exercise and sports to poise and studying. Gatsby does grow up to be a successful and rich person that lives in a great big house with lots of money. This shows that you can grow up poor but work hard and become rich because there are lots of opportunities for you. Another example of hard work and dedication is when Nick has lunch with Jordan, A quote from the conversation was “He wants to know,” continued Jordan, “if you’ll invite Daisy to your house some afternoon and then let him come over” (Fitzgerald 61). In this quote he meaning Gatsby wants to talk to Daisy because he has been waiting for five years. That next day after Nick talks to Jordan, Daisy and Gatsby meet at Nicks house and they finally get to talk. This shows hard work and dedication because Gatsby was waiting for Daisy to Show up at one of his party's but she never did, so he finally meets someone that can help him to achieve the goal. He achieves the goal because he never gave up and he kept on looking. Hard work and dedication really does give you the opportunities to became a well rounded successful person who reaches there goals no mater how far away they are.
