Gospel of John

Not a Synoptic Gospel

The "odd one out"

A story only found in John

How Is John Different?

The importance and significance

It is significant because it gives us a different outlook on the life of Jesus. Thus, when Catholics analyze this account, they can analyze the faith in a new way with a new perspective.

One famous story is the washing if the feet. Because he knew his time on Earth was limited, Jesus washed the feet of the disciples to show that even though they call him "teacher" and "master" he is also a servant of men. he stood up, took a towel and tied it around his waist and began to wash their feet. Peter didn't want Jesus to wash his feet at first, but to have inheritance with God he asked to have his hands and feet washed as well!

It gives a different view of Jesus's life. It has stories not found in the other three gospels, and some of its accounts have extra information not found in Mark, Luke, or John.
