2. Silver Maple Leaf
(Fall Colored)

Almost all maple leaves, including the silver maple, are netted-veined. In the fall, their leaves turn more to a "pale red" color instead of an orange or yellow color. The silver maple is among the most common species of maples found in the United States.

The image below shows a red fall colored silver maple leaf under a microscope. The leaf epidermis is shown in the picture as well as the veins (white "lines" visible in the picture.)
