Digestive System

This is the Digestive System. It starts in the mouth, and the salivary glands moistens the food, and then the tongue pushes it into the throat. Then, the muscles in your esophagus, know as the peristalsis, contract and force the food down it, much like your fingers contract around a Gogurt package, and it pushes it up. From there, it travels into the stomach where it is broken down and digested, and then it travels through the small intestines, and then it will go through the large intestines, and then all the nutrients have been used up, so the waste materials exit the body through the anus. Now for the diseases. Among the most widely known diseases of the digestive system is colon cancer. This is typically a slow-growing cancer that is often survivable if caught early. Even a small stomach bug can be a disease. It causes sickness and nausea, and will cause you to regurgitate all the food you have that is still digesting in your stomach.
