Respiratory System

#6

This is the respiratory system. Respiration is the act of taking in oxygen, and breathing out Carbon Dioxide. It begins in the throat when oxygen enters through the mouth or the nose. Then it travels down the trachea and enter the bronchi. The bronchial tubes lead to the alveoli, where the oxygen switches place with the carbon dioxide in the lungs. For some diseases for the lungs, there is lung cancer, which is exactly what the name implies. Then we have asthma, which causes your lungs to more enclosed than normal lungs, and cause them to swell and inflame a lot easier. If asthma gets your trachea to swollen, it could close off the trachea completely, and you wouldn't be able to breathe.

1. How does oxygen travel around the body?

2. How does oxygen get into the body? What muscle allows it?
