Veterans supported both sides, increasing the hostilities.

The Winnipeg genral strike was important during this time as many people were upset about higher cost of living which grew by over 50% from 1913 and Wages had only grown by 18% . During this time Politicians and business owners were watching the Russian Revolution and were concerned that the Radical union activity in Canada was seen as the beginnings of a communist revolution. Which was important because Canada's politicians did not want there to be a communist uprising so they did every thing in there power to stop the strike but Metal trades workers in Winnipeg eventually began a strike.

The Winona peg general strike is still significant today and we learn about it in history for a number of. Reasons one of the being that a communist revolution was on the brink in Canada but did not happen and the other one is that the Winnipeg General strike has launched multiple labour movements throughout Canada over the years since the Winnipeg strike .
