Golden Rod
Solidago speciosa

The Golden Rod are very common wildflowers found throughout North America. There are over 40 different species, and all display a vibrant yellow color. They tend to bloom late, in late summer to early autumn. Golden Rod tend to cluster in stalks, varying in height (up to 6 feet tall) and have long, narrow leaves. The flower is beneficial to other wildlife as it produces nectar and pollen for insects, and leaves as food for small animals.
