Adolf Hitler

Adolf Hitler was chancellor of Germany and leader of the Nazi party during WWII. He wanted to establish a new order of absolute Nazi power in Europe and directed the rearmament of Germany and the invasion of Poland, resulting in the outbreak of WWII. Under Hitler's rule, the Germans and their allies occupied most of Europe and North Africa until they were forced on the defensive in 1943. During the Battle of Berlin in 1945, Hitler committed suicide in order to avoid capture by the Red Army.
