Italy

Before the war Italy allied with Germany and Austria-Hungary in the triple alliance, this meant that when war broke out that Italy would fight along there side. Italy did not do this. When the war began Italy was neutral but eventually sided with the US allies because they promised Italy the land of Northern Italy. Though the land was promised to Italy, once the war was over Italy never received the land that was promised to them.
