Below the three images is a picture of Emperor Meiji, who ruled Japan from 1868 to 1912. In the picture, he represents an image of prosperity, safety and power as he stands powerfully with neat clothes and posture. This image of the emperor in the picture shows people that he is more than ready to rule Japan and bring successful changes, as he did. Besides the image is a text appealing for people to support emperor Meiji in order to live in the country they ever dreamed about. This piece of text is rather a promise made from the emperor to its people, which appeals the reader as a challenge to give emperor Meiji a chance to show what he can do for Japan.
This poster is highly effective as it shows the measures taken by the Meiji reforms in order for Japan to rise again, as well as portraits Emperor Meiji as a powerful figure who deserves respect and support. Its colors and images are appealing and calls people attention. If it was an election, it would win voters for Emperor Meiji and his strong army.
