Problem, Criteria and Constraints

Problem:

Try to create less urban sprawl in Hawaii.

Problem Statement:

Design a building that has business space, retail space, and residential (hotel) space.

Criteria:

-Must decrease urban sprawl
-Must have a strong structural design
-Must be energy efficient
-Must have an attractive design
-Must have a means for cooling and heating
-Must be big enough and have enough room to have business space, retail space, and residential (hotel) space

Constraints:

-Amount of time to build our building of the future
-Amount of money we can spend to build it
-Where we can place our large building
-In case of a tsunami, will the people be safe? (Structurally sound?)
-Can it accommodate disabled people?
