Red kangaroo- Macropus rufus

Australia

red kangaroo: Red kangaroos feed by grazing on grasses and plants. Accustomed to dry conditions, they can go for long periods without drinking, gaining moisture from the plants they consume.

Red kangaroo: Australia: they reproduce sexually. Usually, female kangaroos give birth to one joey (baby kangaroo) at a time. Newborns weigh as little as 0.03 ounces at birth - as small as a lima bean! After birth, the joey crawls into its mother's pouch, where it will nurse and continue to grow and develop. Red kangaroo joeys do not leave the pouch for good until they are more than eight months old. These kangaroos are marsupials which means they keep their baby in a pouch.

Australia

Red kangaroo-
The kangaroo's teeth are specialized for chewing tough grass and leaves.
To cool itself, the kangaroo uses its saliva. The kangaroo gives itself a "lick bath" which cools it down. During the drier months, the kangaroo has learned to survive by only drinking water twice a week.
