Heart Valves

There are FOUR heart valves.

The name of the valve that separates a ventricle and a greater vessel is called a semilunar valve. There are two of these, the aortic semilunar valve and the pulmonary semilunar valve.

The bicuspid valve separates the left atrium and the left ventricle.

The tricuspid valve separates the right atrium and right ventricle.
