Missile Crisis
The missile crisis in Gaza has been deadly. Hamas has shot almost 500 missiles at Israel. But Israel has created a system called the Iron Dome that intercepts and destroys short range missiles fired from 4 to 70 km away. the Iron Dome has intercepted around 270 missiles, but still some get through. Forty-five palestinians have died and three Israelis have died from air strikes and rockets, creating a grand total of over 450 since december 27 of 2008. Even though both sides of this conflict are attacking each other, the leaders of each side both want the fighting to end and a ceasefire to begin.
