Effect on Enviroment

If this animal were to disappear, it would have an effect on the animals it consumes, and other animals that consume the same prey as it. Jaguarundis tend to prey on birds and small mammals, so with them gone, any species of birds, small mammals, or any other predator that eats these animals have a chance of increasing there population where the jaguarundi was once common. Plant life in certain areas might decrease in some areas where the jaguarundi was at the top of the food chain because it is no longer there to feed on the small mammals or birds that live there to stop them from overpopulating
