What Can Be Expected

If the population of the red imported fire ant continues to increase other populations will decrease such as some of the birds that eat the insects that the ants eat, also the ground laying birds might fall to the endangered species list because the ants will kill them off. Crops will continue to be affected by the ants just at a faster rate and more money will have to be spent to kill the ants. Finally there will be a lot more fire ant attacks on people causing itchy blisters or in extreme cases death.
