Most entertainment was found in daily activities like: horse racing, hunting, and fishing. Another popular thing was dancing. Families gathered for Saturday night hoedowns in isolated areas. Fiesta activities, a part of the Hispanic culture , had dances, games, and food. There were also religious events like weddings, baptisms, and revivals that brought people together. Lively debate was found at political elections. Newspapers also provided information, and there were a few theaters for entertainment.
