Siddhartha Gautama

Gautama's teachings eventually spread across Asia and became the core beliefs of Buddhism.

Boy to Buddha:
Born a prince in about 563BC
At age 29, his life changed. For the 1st time he became aware of human suffering when he saw a hurt man in the street. He no longer wanted to be Gautama, he was Buddha (the enlightened one).
For the rest of his life, he taught others The 4 Noble Truths that lie at the heart of Buddhism.
