Significances

1.The end of the war overwhelmingly gave control of all of eastern europe to the Soviet Union as many countries such as Romania were absorbed into the U.S.S.R.

2. It created a bipolar world as all of the power that came from the vacuum left by the Nazis fell in either socialist hands in Soviet Russia or the western powers, primarily the United States.

3. It further increased the popularity of interventionist policies in the U.S. as the public began to see the U.S. as a necessary moral actor

4. Germany suffered extreme losses and was no longer a world power

5. The Great Depression ended and the U.S. economy experienced rapid growth and expansion, as they were forced to commit their resources for arms and the military in Europe.
