Francis Xavier

At the time of the Catholic Reformation, the amount of missionaries traveling across the world to spread the teachings of the Catholic Church increased dramatically. While it may have increased, the idea of missionaries was not some stunning predicament. In fact, Catholics had been using this method of religion spreading for centuries. since the mid-1200s. However, once the Catholic Reformation occurred missionaries specifically Jesuits, the Society of Jesus created by Ignatius of Loyola, began traveling to places like Asia, Africa, and our land of the Americas to covert its people. Possibly, one of the most influential missionaries was priest Francis Xavier (Francis of Assisi?) Specifically, he traveled to parts of Asia like India and Japan and many individuals in the regions converted to Catholicism because of him.
