How muscular and nervous systems interact
You have receptor cells in your skin, eyes, ears etc. When you see, hear, feel a dangerous situation, these receptor cells send electrical impulses along their length. At the end of each nerve cell is a gap called a synapse. Each neuron releases chemicals into this space. The next neuron in line has its own receptors which respond to the presence of this chemical. This causes an electrical impulse along this neuron to its end.
