Farmers, Slaves, and Craftsmen

Farmers- Worked the land for Pharaoh and the nobles. They were given housing, food, and clothes in return. Some farmers even rented land and paid crops in return.

Slaves- Usually prisoners captured in wars. Could be found in households of the Pharaoh and the nobles. There were no auctions or markets of slaves in Egypt.

Craftsmen- Skilled workers such as pottery makers, painters, sculptors, and tailors. Groups of craftsmen usually worked in workshops.
