Egyptian gods/goddesses
BES- looks like a dwarf with a lion head and had human features. He protected many things such as pregnant women and new babies, and snake and scorpion bites.
NUN- looks like a man carrying a bark or boat. Nun was the waters of chaos. They believed that Nun was the only thing that existed on earth before land. Then the firt bit of land which looked like a mound, evolved into Nun.
HATHOR- looks like a woman with the ears of a cow and had the horns of a cow. In between the horns was a sun disk. Hathor was a protective goddess. Also the goddess of love and joy. Hathor was the wife of Horus and sometimes thought of as the mother of Pharaoh.
OSIRIS- looks like a mummified man wearing a white cone-like headdress with feathers. Osiris was the god of the dead and the underworld. He was the brother/husband of Isis and brother of Nepthys and Seth. Also father of Horus. He was god of resurrection and fertility too. Egyptians believed that Osiris gave them their crop, barley, which is one of the most important crops they use
Nut (sky goddess) A woman whose body arches across the sky, wearing a dress made of stars. She ends and begins the nighttime. Egyptians believed that she would swallow Ra and birth him again in the morning.
