Universities
- during the Gupta Empire universities were invented
- the only people allowed to attend were males and teacher's daughters
- in Hindu universities they taught religion, mathematics, astronomy, chemistry, and Sanskrit
- however in Buddhist universities they taught philosophy, logic, grammar, and medicine
Literature
- paintings weren't the only type of art, there were also sculptures
- sculptures were made of stone, wood, bronze, terra-cotta, and were also carved in cave and on temple walls
- they usually showed Hindu deities, Buddhist deities, and scenes from important peoples lives
In the Gupta Empire there were 6 types of literature:
- poetry
- fables
- folk tales
- plays
- Puranas
- Mahabharata
- paintings in Gupta Empire had three main subjects:
- deities
- families
- royalty
- paintings and art were influenced by religion
- this was because paintings and murals were in the temples
