SACCO VANZETTI
ERA OF SUSPICION
In 1920, Nicolas Sacco and Bartolommeo Vanzetti, both Italian-born anarchists, were convicted of murdering two men in an armed robbery of a shoe factory in Massachusetts.
Despite evidence and many witnesses who claimed the men were in locations not near the robbery, Sacco and Vanzetti were still convicted. The defendants why they were armed when they were arrested, stating their anarchist beliefs, which many assume was a reason the men were convicted.
