FlowVella for Mac 3.25 – with TouchBar Support
We just released another update to the FlowVella Mac app. You can get it on the Mac App Store or from us directly at flowvella.com/download.
This update integrates the TouchBar – only available on newer MacBook Pros. So why add integration of the TouchBar? There seems to be some debate about how useful the TouchBar is. Some people don’t like it, claim it causes battery draining issues and they do not see much utility in it. (By the way, everyone does seem to love the TouchID part of the TouchBar!)
We have a couple MacBook Pros in the office that have the TouchBar and we have found it to be useful and necessary to use in many applications. Our thought was that if more apps adopted the TouchBar and made it useful universally, that would be a good thing. So, we decided to add a few integrations where it made sense, and are open to continuing development on even more features in the future.
After recently adding buttons to add all the possible content items – as opposed to the old drop-down style – we decided to ‘double down’ on this and put those buttons right in the TouchBar while in the create mode. There is potential room to go deeper here. We could, for example, add the Text options in the TouchBar as well. When in the ‘view’ mode, we have added TouchBar buttons for these controls which we think will be quite helpful for folks.
In addition to the new TouchBar integration, we found and squashed some bugs found within the High Sierra Operating System, and made all content types centered when adding. It’s the little things that count, and we are looking to make small improvements everywhere in our apps while we continue to introduce new features and functionality.
We hope you enjoy trying out FlowVella’s new TouchBar integration, and the continued updates to the Mac App. If you have any questions, or would like to share feedback or feature requests, please let us know in the comments below.
