Labelling

All pre-packed food products should include labelling. The name, ingredients, the net quantity (weight and volume), best before date and storage conditions.

Bar Code

A series of lines that allows a machine to identify what country the product came from, the product itself, the name of the manufacturer and the price.

Brand Name

A unique name given to the product to distinguish it from competing products.

Symbols

These are tags and symbols attached to particular products.

Loss Leader

Low price products are known as loss leaders. These are the shops that offer a product at a competitively low price in order to attract customers.
