THE GROWTH IN TOWNS

San Felipe (one of the three most important towns in Texas) had to be rebuilt after it was burned down during the Texas Revolution (it wasn't built the same way.) Due to the growth of Houston, now the 3rd largest town.

None of these towns could be called cities. Each had homes, general stores, blacksmith shops, lawyer offices and race shops. But they didn't have paved streets.
One exception was San Antonio. There 2 manufacturing factories. One in Houston and one in Henderson.
