Artist: Master G.Z

Date: 1420-30

Medium: tempera and gold on wood

Title: Madonna and Child with the Donor Pierto de' Lardi, Presented by Saint Nicholas

Providence: currently in the Metropolitan Museum of Art

Source: http://www.metmuseum.org/collection/the-collection-online/search/470304

Describe: We can see four and in the center is a small child. The Donor is on his knees asking the woman and child for something.

Analyze:

There are many light colors in this piece, but the main contrast is between everyone's cloak and the Donor's cloak.

Interpret:

I think that this painting is the Donor asking something of what appears to be baby Jesus and Mary, and Jesus is in way blessing him.

Judge: I like this painting because of all the soft colors.
