Technology

Iron was important to the Zhou Dynasty because it was stronger and more durable in terms of battle. Since this occurred during the Warring States Period where the states were constantly fighting over power for all of the other states. It was also important because iron was cheaper to produce during the Zhou Period which made it more economical.

WHY IRON WAS IMPORTANT TO THE ZHOU

WHAT INFLUENCE IRON HAS ON US TODAY

It is very common for iron to be used in present day weapons and if it were not for the Zhou, then we would not have the idea. Because of the differences in geography around the world, it might be impossible to think of the idea in other parts of the world since some areas lack iron. If the Zhou Dynasty had not crafted iron in to weapons and tools, the world could possibly vastly different. Different battles and wars could have been won and lost, and the landscape of humanity could have been completely different than it is today.

The jian was used for self defense in the battles throughout the Zhou Dynasty, The Jian sword was originally a short, double-bladed sword similar to a dagger.
