Reading this book, I learned how serious and awful segregation towards African Americans was. I think that this book made me understand everything a little better since it showed Jackie Robinson's life in many different perspectives. You get to see his life from people who supported him and you get to see his life through people who wished him dead. This book tought me that you can never really understand what a person is going through unless you stand in their shoes.
