Ben Chapman- He was one of the coaches for Philadelphia that was really racist and always called Jackie Robinson mean names. This coach is one of the people that wished Jackie Robinson dead. In the book, I got to see what it was like through his eyes and I could not believe how racist and mean one man could be.

Branch Rickey- This man is the guy that gave
Jackie Robinson a contract to play Major League Baseball. He stood by Jackie all the way and always said the right thing when Jackie was in a tough spot. It was nice to know that one white man wanted to make a difference no matter what the risks are.
