I think that the author wrote this book because he saw that everyone was writing books about Jackie Robinson though his eyes and this author wanted everyone to see what the life of Jackie Robinson was like through other peoples' life. He wanted us to see what the life of Jackie Robinson was like through people that cared about Jackie Robinson and people that wanted him back in the negro leagues. I have read many books on Jackie Robinson but I think that this book gave me the best understanding of what really happened and why it happened.
