Gambling is when a person plays a game of chance for money or takes risky actions in the hope of a desired result. Gambling can lead to a very serious addiction over a long period of time. This is called “Compulsive Gambling”, which is a type of impulse-control disorder. When in this state, gambling is usually all the person can think about and something they always want to be doing, no matter the consequences. People with an addiction can not “stay off bet”. There is also “Problem Gambling” which is any gambling behavior that disrupts life; like your family and friends.
