Effects on family

Gambling has a strong impact on families. This includes money problems, emotional problems, physical/mental health problems, a negative impact on children, and physical/emotional abuse. There is also a Burnout stage, this is when the family can no longer cope with the stress caused by the addicted gambler. The family members try to take on more tasks to fix the problem, worrying more about the person with the gambling addiction more than themselves. Things that happen to the family can happen to the gambler themselves.
