There are two types of succession that occur on Earth. There is Primary succession and Secondary succession. Primary succession is when an environment fails and starts over or a natural disaster occurs and all that is left in the end is bare rock. Secondary succession is when an environment fails and starts over or a natural disaster occurs and only soil still remains. Pioneer species is the first species that comes back after an environment is wiped out and starts over. Climax community is when a environment is fully developed and has come back to its normal self after a natural disaster occurs.
