2. The antibiotic will stop the function of the enzyme and since the enzyme is what encourages the bacterial growth then it will be stopped and the bacteria will die.

3a. The pH determines whether the substance is acidic or basic. The normal pH of blood is 7.4 which is fairly neutral.
3b. Acidosis is a problem because it destroys enzymes which are vital to cell function. It disturbs cellular transport across the cell and electrical charge on membranes. it weakens all body systems and a pH-balanced environment to resist disease is needed.
