These animals are biotic factors. They make up the food web of the tropical rainforest. One kind is an insect. It ranks as the most commonly found animal. They are usually found in the understory, a lower level of the rainforest, or on trees. It is a primary consumer, because it only consumes plants. Insects are eaten by higher levels of the food web, like parrots or iguanas. Another species is the parrot, a very colorful bird. They usually reside in the canopy, living in tree cavities. Parrots are considered secondary consumers because they eat insects. Not only that, they also ingest seeds and bamboo. Parrots are eaten by pythons and jaguars. These animals help connect the food web, which keeps the tropical rainforest in natural order.
