Soil and Temperature

The soil in a tropical rainforest is really acidic. Normally after the fungi decompose fallen leaves, fruit, etc. the nutrients enter the soil. But because it is used by plants and animals of the higher levels, like the canopy, the soil is left without any nutrients. A final abiotic factor of the tropical rainforest is the temperature. It varies very little. The temperature seldom rises above 95°F(35°C). It rarely drops below 64°F(18°C). These abiotic factors truly define a real tropical rainforest, especially the rain.
