I am now part of the Senate, and not a consul. there have been some changes regarding the role the plebeians have in our Roman society. The plebeians believed they needed more representation in governments, so the current consuls are trying to meet the needs of the people. They don't want their wealth and power to be taken away from them, so they are trying their best to please the common people. In the Senate, I am helping assist the consuls in suggesting ways the plebeians can do more for the society.
An idea one of my fellow Senators proposed was for the lower class to have their own Senate. Instead of calling it a Senate, it is called an Assembly. There will be two Assemblys, one for the plebeians and one for the patricians. To make it fair for the people, we are going to have plebeians chosen to be put in the Assembly. There were also people called tribunes who protected the rights of plebeians from unfair acts of officials.
