Las Lajas Cathedral is one of the most valuable treasures of Colombia. This temple is amazingly beautiful, as if coming out of a fairy tale. It is situated amongst the remote mountains of south-western Colombia and is considered one of the most brilliant pilgrimage shrines in the world. Las Lajas Cathedral firmly clings to a rock wall and just below it runs with its powerful waters the river Guaitara. Two magnificent waterfalls complete the fabulous view of the gorge, where the Las Lajas stands proudly. Today, this image of the Virgin Mary is located on 45 m high rock, which can be seen on the back of the cathedral Las Lajas.
