Utilitarianism's Solution
Veganism: should eating animals be considered wrong?
According to Mill, veganism is right.
Mill says that all sentient creatures should be able to live under the Greatest Happiness Principle.
A sentient creature is any creature that has the ability to promote pleasure and mitigate pain.
In this quote, Mill explains who live under the GHP.
"This, being according to the utilitarian opinion of the end of human action, is necessarily also the standard of morality, [...] such as has been described might be, to the greatest extent possible, secured to all mankind; and not to them only, but, so far as the nature of things admits, to the whole sentient creation."
