After imprisonment

In 1928 he was released from jail as part of a general amnesty.

After his release, Höss joined the vōlkisch artamanen- Gesellschaft a nationalist back to the land movement that promoted clean living and a farm based lifestyle.

On August 17, 1929, Höss married Hedwig Hensel, whom he met in the Artaman league, they had 5 children together.
