When did this occur? It is still happening today?

The population is still rising today and it is estimated that by 2100 the population will be five times as great as it is now. There is some advancements, like the increasing life expectancy and child and infant mortality rate which is projected to have and effect lowering the total fertility rate of a woman. It is believed that the total fertility rate could drop to 2.9 by 2045 which will slow the population growth down greatly.
