Many people believe we experience seasons because of the distance between the Earth and Sun. But in fact, this is not the case at all. Earth's orbit around the Sun is almost a perfect circle, and the distance never really increases or decreases. Seasons are actually caused by the Earth's tilt and the amount of direct or indirect sunlight.
